a brief update on Saturday’s training event with our panelist biographies below. Unfortunately, Victor Finn of IMRO is unable to attend the session this time around.
STUART WORTHINGTON
Stuart Worthington is a professional industry consultant with over twenty years experience. In 1995 he began working in close collaboration with the Music Manager’s Forum and became Head of Training and Education for the organisation. In conjunction with this in 1999 he also became Project Manager of ‘Manchester City Music Industry Network’ an agency established to help facilitate the economic development of the independent music industry in Manchester, NW England.
NICK ROBINSON
As Senior VP Business Development for Kobalt Music Publishing, Nick started working with Kobalt in 2008. Prior to this Nick had a six-year stint with BMI, the U.S. performing right organization, where he most recently served as senior executive writer/publisher relations, Europe. During his time with BMI, Robinson was responsible for the signing and relationships with such major artists as Radiohead, Natasha Bedingfield, Mika, James Blunt, Keane, Duffy, Sigur Ros, Hard-Fi, Klaxons, Aqualung, and Estelle. Prior to that, he worked with EMI Records U.K. for five years, three of which were served as head of the company’s A&R department.

STEVE LINDSEY
Steve’s introduction to the music industry came in 1975 whilst studying at Liverpool College of Art when, as a member of the band Deaf School, he signed with Warner Bros Records. He entered the world of music publishing in 1985 as Professional Manager with Warner Chappell. He joined Island Music as General Manager in 1990 and was associated with The Beautiful South, Massive Attack, Shakespear’s Sister and Irish artists such as U2, Hinterland and Gavin Friday. Steve established Elevate Music in 2004 and the company currently represents Irish writers such as Mundy, Cathy Davey, Robotnik, Alphastates and score composer Niall Byrne. Steve sits on the boards of IMRO and MCPS Ireland.
JOHNNY LAPPIN
Johnny Lappin is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable music publishers working at the forefront of the industry today. He is Secretary of the Music Publishers Association of Ireland (MPAI) and is also on the boards of both IMRO and MCPS Ireland. He is currently the Managing Director of Liffey Publishing Ltd whose clients include the multi-platinum selling Irish female group Celtic Woman and the sensational new ballad group The High Kings. He administers the publishing interests of MCD boss Denis Desmond’s Evolving Music Company whose roster includes the million-selling Rodrigo y Gabriela. Also among this extensive roster are such dynamic current acts like Ryan Sheridan, The Minutes and Fight Like Apes. Over the years Lappin’s music publishing activities brought him an impressive list of clients, including Clannad, Aslan, Sharon Shannon, The Celtic Tenors, Rob Burke, Liam Reilly, Paddy Reilly and many other top Irish artists.
EILEEN O’GORMAN
Eileen advises a broad range of clients in the corporate sector on commercial issues and has been involved in the negotiation and drafting of a wide range of commercial agreements, corporate restructuring and commercial transactions. She has also advised industry clients in contentious issues such as breach of contract, patent infringement, breach of copyright and passing off. Eileen also provides an eclectic mix of music and media clients with advice on recording, management and publishing agreements and generally in the area of copyright law and intellectual property rights. She has provided opinions on copyright issues to both broadcast and print media. She has written for the Sunday Business Post and Sunday Tribune and been a contributor on Sky News and Newstalk.
