Alan Cullivan (Chairman)
Member of Dublin Punk /Pop band Puppy Love Bomb signed to Rough Trade. Made infamous the T-shirt slogan “Dublin Is Dead”. Worked at Lakota Records, the Sony imprint label on the very successful campaign for JJ72. Left Lakota after discovering The Thrills. Signed band to EMI’s Virgin Records and BMG Publishing. Oversaw all aspects of bands campaigns throughout the world. Discovered Dublin band Humanzi and signed band to Universal’s Fiction Records and BMG Publishing. Took time away from Industry when wife, Karen, had their first baby Max J. Cullivan. Currently has busy management company, and is Founding Chairman of MMF Ireland (Music Mangers Forum Ireland) which has been set up to establish educational events for management at all levels in the music business and to act as a lobbying group on behalf of artists management.
John Weston (Secretary)
In his previous life John worked in a number of senior finance roles and is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant. He has been involved in small independent businesses as well as working in the City of London and for a number of multi-national corporations. Having entered the music industry in 2003 he has been involved in management, dispute resolution and project management, working with artists such as Neds Atomic Dustbin, Susan Bluechild, UK rock band Madisuns, Mungo Jerry & Lee John (Imagination). John is currently heading up the new Irish office of Backstreet International Merchandise.
Alexis Vokos (International Liaison)
In 2006, Alexis was closely involved in securing Catherine Feeny’s publishing deal with Warner Chappell, establishing Tallgrass Records and releasing Catherine’s album ‘Hurricane Glass’ independently before the album was licensed on to EMI and re-released in 2007. He has lived in Dublin since 2008.
Alan Hennessy (Marketing Officer)
As manager of The Kinetiks since their inception, Alan has lead the band to a Meteor Award nomination, regular national airplay, a recent U.S release for their records, track synchs on MTV and a number of festival slots. In addition to setting up Rapture Records in 2008, Alan works for Crashed Music/IML Irish Music Licensing, marketing artists such as Moya Brennan, Horslips, The Dubliners, Luke Kelly and many others while also spearheading the company’s growth in the digital sphere and acting as a consultant to sister company and physical distributor, All Media Entertainment. Alan started out working in HMV and has also worked with Hot Press in the past in a marketing role.
Jim Lawless (Events Officer)
Jim is manger of The Coronas. Having never thought of music management as a career Jim fell in to his position more than chose it. He grew up with three of the band members in school and when they left school was asked to manage the band, then called Corona. Jim worked with the band all through college part-time, more of a hobby than anything else. It wasn’t until the band got signed to 3ú Records in their final year of college that Jim started to think of artist management as a career. Jim studied Business Management with Economics and Finance in Dublin’s Institute of Technology and worked in the manufacturing and construction sector before going to into artist management full-time.
Simon Rudd (Treasurer)
Simon worked for years in marketing in the FMCG sector, developing and building brands, specialising in category management, strategic branding, brand awareness and development. In 2005 he co-founded SiAn Records and SiAn Management, and ran the artist management side of the business. In 2008 Simon joined forces with a French based entertainment production company and set up Missing Link Management and currently manages “Jaded Sun” and newly signed “Lancelot”.
Thomas Murphy (Training Officer)
Thomas, by day, lecturers in the Department of Transport Engineering, Dublin Institute of Technology and always had an interest in music by night. He has set up Binary Records and music management as he now manages, two up and coming North county Dublin bands “Xenon Field” & “MGB”, who are now, beginning their long journals with the music industrial. His duties with MMF Ireland are to organize the MMF training days and liaise with Stuart Worthington of MMF Training who chairs the training days.
